Figgy Pudding Christmas Ensemble

I am so excited that some of my favorite scrapbook designers are now designing fabric. I love the modern designs and rich colors they bring to the quilting world. When I saw this fabric line, Figgy Pudding, from Basic Grey, I knew I had to do something with it. So, I started with a tree skirt. I made my Mom a tree skirt a few years ago (pattern from Buggy Barn) and have been wanting to make one for myself. I love damask prints and there were lots to pick from in this line. I used most of them in this skirt.

Then, I was shopping one day and saw this advent calendar. I bought the pattern for it at Pine Needles in Gardner Village (it's exclusively theirs - the quilt pattern below is also from there). The fabric line the designer had used to make the calendar was pink and blue and green. It was cute, but wouldn't match my decor very well. So, I decided to do it in Figgy Pudding. Surprise, I know!

As if two projects wasn't enough, I saw a quilt that was also done in Figgy Pudding. It was so cute, I couldn't resist. I pieced the quilt in about a day. I haven't had time to quilt it and I won't until after Christmas. But, I love it and it will give me something to look forward to for next Christmas. After all, I start planning for Christmas around February.

To top it off, I wanted to make a dolly Christmas outfit (you guessed it - in Figgy Pudding). But, I was worried that I was going over board, so I changed my mind and did it in a line from another popular scrapbook designer who is new on the quilting scene - My Mind's Eye. Maybe I'll do one next year in Figgy Pudding. I'm sure there's more than enough of it in my stash. How does the old saying go? There's no such thing as too much fabric!!!
